Summer is Over and it’s All Going South!

Waving goodbye to August has never been easier as September in Cork is just getting warmed up! Two’s Company have compiled a list of events to guide you through the first month of Autumn and on to Octobers doorstep!

Ballymaloe Garden Festival

2nd-3rd Sept 2017

Ballymaloe House plays host to a wondrous festival that covers subjects ranging from herb and vegetable growing to bee and alpaca keeping. There will be talks, walks, demonstrations and stalls which will delight foodies and those with green fingers alike!

The Cork International Short Story Festival

13-16th September 2017

These four days of readings promise to uproot your reality and whisk you off to a new world of imagination. The event includes readings from short story competition winners, contributions from UCC English Literature Society students and involves something called story songs. Intrigued? Clonakilty International Guitar Festival 2017

20-24th September 2017

These guys LOVE the guitar and since this year is the thirteeth installment of the festival it appears many other people do too!#popular. Sponsorship from Heineken and The Arts Council means over 90% of the shows billed are free of charge, and with artists such as Otherkin and Wallis Bird making up the 30 strong line-up this is an event not to be missed!

Cork Folk Festival

28 September – 1st October

This festival takes place every year and infiltrates Cork’s streets, concert halls, music venues and almost 30 bars! Despite the vast difference in venues the festival is known for it’s intimate feel. Mick Flanner, Lynched, Buttons and Bows, We Banjo 3 and Atlantic Arc Orchestra are tipped as this years ‘one’s to watch this year’. Get involved!
